Happy Resurrection Day!

Some say happy Easter instead. The reason we as Christians celebrate the day is because it is the day our "Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" rose again after willingly being crucified, for the sins of mankind, giving us an opportunity to surrender our lives to him and spend eternity with him.

It has nothing to do with rabbits and eggs.

I don't want to spend a lot of time on the name Easter, so just a brief history here to bring understanding on why "Happy Resurrection Day" is about Jesus and the origin of Easter was not.

The name Easter is never associated with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in the original Scriptures and is actually derived from the word "Eostre." Eostre was Queen Semiramis, the wife of Nimrod, Noah's evil great grandson (Genesis 10:6-8).

Nimrod built the major cities of Babel, Asshur, Nineveh, and Calah (Genesis 10:1012), which were known for their evil and unimaginable worship practices and perversion. After Nimrod's death, Queen Semiramis kept the evil practices alive by deifying Nimrod as the sun god. Later, she gave birth to a son, Tammuz. She convinced the people that he was supernaturally conceived and the child promised by God in Genesis 3:15. The people worshipped Tammuz as the reincarnation of Nimrod, they also worshipped Queen Semiramis as the mother goddess of life and fertility. When you do the research you can read all about the evil they participated in.

The beginning of Easter goes back to the springtime ritual begun by Queen Semiramis following the death of Tammuz. Legend says that through her tears, Tammuz could be resurrected in the reincarnated form of new vegetation on Earth.

Because Queen Semiramis (Eostre) was the goddess of spring and her symbolism dealt with renewal and rebirth, the Christian belief in the resurrection of Christ fit well with these themes.

Babylonians considered the egg a sacred symbol that represented Ostera's fertility and new life. They believed in a fable about a huge egg that fell from heaven into the Euphrates River which hatched Queen Semiramis. Egg dying was observed in the evil rituals celebrating the spring equinox.

The 2nd century church adopted Easter as the day to honor the resurrection of Jesus, and Easter was put on the calendar as a holiday. Many Christians do not understand the history of the word Easter and so they naturally say happy Easter with good intentions of honoring Jesus.

The Crucifixion And Resurrection Of Jesus

Matthew 20:17-19

Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!

The Summary of his Resurrection

Luke 23: 44-46

It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

Luke 24:1-6 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; HEHASRISEN,Rememberhowhetold you while he was still with you in Galilee"! Be sure to take the time this month to read the full accounts of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ in Mark 16, Matthew 28, and Luke 24!

The resurrection of Jesus is one of the most important events in human history. One that we should definitely celebrate and be grateful for always.
