Are You Training Our Children To Be Godly People... Or To Partner With Their Enemy?

Updated: Apr 10

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead expose them. ~ Ephesians 5:11

As we look around, it's easy to see the obvious evil, but sometimes we miss the not-so-obvious evil. It can disguise and appear good, harmless, loving, but as you look closer, the evil will reveal itself.

We need to be alert as scripture tells us:"Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." ~ 1 Peter 5:8

And this as well:"So then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:6"

The enemy is going after our youth full force, in both the obvious and not-so-obvious ways.

Yes, he's going after believers in general. But his attack against children of all ages has become very loud. If you have your eyes open, you CAN NOT miss it.

As parents and grandparents, we need to be alert to the things influencing our children. We need to be proactive in their lives, and we need to use more of that good old word most of us heard growing up: NO.

Not only does the enemy go after them through abortion, but he is gaining access to our children of all ages through music, TV shows, movies, the internet, and in their schools! AND even in some of our churches.

He likes to keep parents so busy that they overlook what their kids are doing. We all make mistakes as parents and learn the hard way about some things. And most of us, when we do learn, we share with others what we have learned, with the hope that they won't make the same mistakes.

But in the midst of the parents who are truly trying to raise good Godly kids who love Jesus, learning from their mistakes as they go, we also have parents who have been deceived and are, in fact, encouraging the works of satan in their homes. We pray for their eyes to be open. But we don't send our kids to their houses.

We have horrible TV shows, movies, and music teaching our kids that living a holy life is control and not fun. I heard a young woman say in a video that she wanted her kids to live a fun life because that is all that matters—fun! She then said when her kids pass away, it's not her concern what happens then. REALLY! Not her concern... heartbreaking, the deception that is out there.

Our girls are encouraged to dress seductively, dance seductively, and think that premarital sex is okay if it makes you happy and catches the attention of that boy—or man, in some cases.

And, of course, we teach the boys to desire the type of girl that is like the entertainer—the type that has no boundaries and no desire to live holy.

Then we have the movies full of witchcraft, death, and gore, that mock God and all Jesus died for. These movies are causing anxiety, depression, other mental struggles, and other health issues for those watching.

AND we have parents watching this stuff with their kids and then complaining when the spirit of death is attacking their health and relationships. And they say they don't understand why their kids are going through certain things or why they are rebellious.

It's heartbreaking. It makes me nauseous at the reality of the ground satan is gaining with our young people and even the older generation.

Loving our kids means pointing them to the person who loves them even more than we do and pointing them to His ways, as we know that person is Jesus!

I promise you, Jesus would not look upon that movie on the screen and entertain Himself with it. He would not be in the audience cheering on those men and women entertainers on stage that are teaching our kids through their music, behaviors that lead to death—to a life separated from Him.

Jesus would hurt for the children and the influences that are leading them toward our enemy. He would speak up, call for repentance, and steer them away from it and to Him because His ways lead to eternal life.

He may not be here in physical form, but He sees what is happening to our youth and what is leading them astray, and His heart is breaking for them. How do we know? His word tells us so!

Parents, we are to be the watchmen and watchwomen of our homes. We are to guard what comes into our homes and going into the minds and hearts of our children.

Start saying NO to those sleepovers also. The increase in abuse and leading kids astray at sleepovers and even within our churches is on the rise. Again, the enemy is after the children in many ways!

No, we won't be perfect, and we will mess up at times—we all have. But when God convicts us and our eyes are opened, we better repent and do better for the sake of our children.

We better guard our hearts from allowing the influence of the world to turn our hearts and the hearts of our children away from God. There will be great consequences if we don't. And those consequences will be painful for us and our children.

We can also make a difference with the youth around us that are not our own children. We can speak the things that bring life to them, teach them to say NO to the things that deceive them and bring eternal death. Warn them about what the ways of their enemy satan will do to their minds, hearts, and the issues his ways will cause physically.

This is how we LOVE them, NOT pointing them to the enemy and cheering on his influence in their lives!

Speak More... And Stand In The Fight For Our Children!

Isaiah 54:13"All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children."

1 Peter 3:11"He must turn away from evil and do good; He must seek peace and pursue it."
